AliousRobbie Keane’s strong start to his managerial career with Ferencvárosi TC has attracted interest from clubs in the UK, including his former side Tottenham Hotspur.
Some reports have suggested that Spurs view Keane as their preferred candidate to replace current boss Igor Tudor, with the North London club believed to have already made contact with the Tottenham legend about a potential return to N17.
However, a fresh update has clarified the 45-year-old’s stance on the situation.
Keane unwilling to accept interim role
According to a report from TEAMtalk, Tottenham are indeed among the clubs monitoring Keane’s progress as a coach. Despite the growing interest, the Irishman is reportedly taking a patient approach to his future.
The report states that Keane is “in no rush” to make a decision about the next step in his managerial career as he waits to see whether an official approach arrives from Spurs.
Within the club, the former striker is viewed as a possible long-term replacement for Tudor. His familiarity with Tottenham’s culture and supporters is said to make him an attractive option for the North London side.
That said, Keane would only consider returning to Spurs in a permanent managerial role rather than taking charge on an interim basis.

Tottenham could face competition if they decide to pursue their former forward.
TEAMtalk claims that Crystal Palace F.C. are also keeping an eye on Keane as a potential successor to Oliver Glasner, who is expected to leave Selhurst Park at the end of the season. Palace reportedly admire Keane’s motivational qualities and his experience in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, the report adds that Keane has also emerged as a leading candidate to take over at Celtic F.C., where interim manager Martin O’Neill is currently in charge ahead of the summer.
