Piero Ausilio has reportedly made a trip to London to meet with Guglielmo Vicario, as Inter Milan step up their pursuit of the Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper.

Vicario, an Italy international, is widely understood to be Inter’s primary target between the posts ahead of next season.

Reports from Calciomercato.com indicate that Ausilio’s visit is aimed at opening direct discussions with the Spurs shot-stopper, who is believed to be keen on a return to Serie A.

The same source claims Vicario has already signalled his willingness to join the Nerazzurri, who are preparing for a potential change in goal with Yann Sommer nearing the end of his contract. Initial talks with the player’s representatives reportedly began weeks ago.

Tottenham, currently battling to avoid relegation from the Premier League, are expected to demand a transfer fee in the region of €15m–€20m. However, that valuation could decrease if the club drops into the EFL Championship.

Despite conceding 165 goals in 115 appearances for Spurs, Vicario enjoyed success last season, helping the club secure the UEFA Europa League title.
