AliousAccording to Gianluca Di Marzio, former Olympique de Marseille manager Roberto De Zerbi is now open to discussing a five-year contract offer from Tottenham Hotspur. The North London club are stepping up their pursuit of the Italian following the confirmed exit of Igor Tudor within the past 24 hours, with talks expected to begin soon in an effort to reach an agreement.
De Zerbi’s position appears to be evolving. Previously, he had only been willing to consider a return to the Premier League if Tottenham could secure their top-flight status for next season.
The ex-Brighton & Hove Albion boss parted ways with Marseille in February after an intense 18-month tenure that saw the club return to the Champions League. However, the current campaign was marked by inconsistency and off-field tensions.
He had already been on Spurs’ radar following the departure of Thomas Frank, before the club opted to appoint another former Marseille coach in Tudor, whose stint ultimately lasted just 44 days.
As it stands, Tottenham are enduring a dismal run, still without a win in 2026 and hovering just above the relegation zone in 17th place in the Premier League standings.
