AliousEverton confirmed the update in a post on their official X account on Tuesday evening.
The 23-year-old Spain international midfielder picked up the injury during Everton’s 3-2 loss to Liverpool at Goodison Park on Saturday. Gabarro was forced off in the 55th minute and replaced by Kelly Gago.
Following further medical examinations, Everton’s staff have confirmed that Gabarro has suffered a rupture of her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). The injury will rule her out for the rest of the current season and a significant portion of the next campaign.
Her setback added to what was already a frustrating Merseyside derby for Everton. The Toffees found themselves 3-0 down before mounting a late fightback in the second half, but their efforts fell short as they could only narrow the gap.
Everton now have three fixtures left this season and still have plenty to fight for, with a top-half finish within reach if they can string together positive results. Their remaining matches include home ties against Chelsea and Leicester City, as well as an away trip to Arsenal.
