Roberto De Zerbi has delivered his first message to Tottenham Hotspur supporters following his appointment as the club’s new manager on Tuesday.

The Italian replaces Igor Tudor, who was dismissed after managing just one win in seven games during his interim spell.

De Zerbi becomes Spurs’ third head coach this season after Thomas Frank was also relieved of his duties, leaving the north London side locked in a battle to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

Currently sitting 17th in the table, Spurs are just one point clear of the relegation zone with seven fixtures remaining.

The 46-year-old arrived at Hotspur Way on Wednesday and shared a short message with fans via the club’s social media platforms.

“Hello to all Tottenham fans,” he said. “I am very happy to be here with you. It is a great honour and I am very proud to be your coach. I will give my best and hope to stay here for a long time at this great club. See you soon.”

De Zerbi most recently managed Olympique de Marseille in Ligue 1, leaving the role in February shortly after a heavy 5-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain.

He also brings prior Premier League experience, having been in charge of Brighton & Hove Albion until 2024, where he oversaw 89 matches and recorded 38 victories.

His first match as Spurs manager will take place on Sunday, April 12, away to Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, before hosting his former side Brighton in his first home game.
