Nottingham Forest continued their impressive start to the Premier League season with a 3-1 victory over Leicester City on Friday night. Chris Wood scored a brace, while Ryan Yates also found the back of the net for the Reds.
While several Forest players stood out in the win, former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol was particularly impressed by the performance of winger Callum Hudson-Odoi. Nicol hailed the 23-year-old as “dynamite” and claimed he has enjoyed watching Hudson-Odoi all season for the in-form Nottingham Forest side.
Despite not getting on the scoresheet, Hudson-Odoi was unlucky not to do so, forcing a good save from the Leicester goalkeeper in the first half and rattling the post with a trademark effort in the second.
Nicol praised Hudson-Odoi’s ability on the counter-attack, which has been a key part of Nottingham Forest’s success so far this campaign. The former England international stated that Forest’s ability to bring players forward like Hudson-Odoi has been “dynamite” for the club.
While Hudson-Odoi has found the net just once this season after scoring eight goals last term, Nicol believes the winger needs a consistent run of games to regain his form. With Nottingham Forest facing a struggling West Ham side this weekend, it could be the perfect opportunity for Hudson-Odoi to build on his impressive display against Leicester and cement his place in the starting XI.
