The former PSG prospect, who arrived at the Stadium of Light in 2023 with considerable expectations, finds himself increasingly marginalized under his compatriot Le Bris. His current campaign tells a stark tale: just 12 minutes of Championship action, with seven matchday squad omissions already. This represents a significant decline from his previous season’s involvement, where he contributed four goal involvements across 28 appearances.
Intriguingly, this isn’t the first time Aouchiche has struggled under Le Bris’s management. Their paths previously crossed at Lorient, where the midfielder’s opportunities were similarly limited – managing just one league start in 13 appearances during 2022/23.
