GOOD NEWS: “I Am Committed to the Nottingham Forest For Honor and Glory”

Ola Aina’s resurgence under Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo has positioned the versatile full-back as an essential figure at the City Ground, making it increasingly likely that the club will retain his services.

Despite being set to become a free agent in less than a year, negotiations are progressing swiftly to secure Aina’s future with Forest, with an agreement reportedly close.

Initially, the 28-year-old had considered waiting until the New Year to evaluate his options, including interest from the Saudi Pro League, which offered the potential for a significant salary increase.

The league’s push, spearheaded by Michael Emenalo—former Chelsea technical director and now a key figure in Saudi football’s expansion—highlighted the appeal of a move to the Middle East.

However, Aina has chosen to prioritize his place at Forest, with an announcement on his contract extension expected soon.

### **A Key Player for Forest**
Aina has been a standout performer for Nottingham Forest this season, starting all 12 Premier League games in the 2024/25 campaign.

His consistent displays have cemented him as Nuno’s first-choice right-back, relegating Neco Williams to a backup role.

Aina’s impact was on full display during Forest’s dominant 3-0 victory over West Ham in November, where he scored a spectacular long-range goal.

Nuno praised Aina’s growing confidence in attacking areas, saying, *“That was a very positive and beautiful goal from Ola. We are delighted that players are stepping up and contributing in crucial ways.”*

This season marks a significant shift for Aina, who had struggled for consistent starts last term. Notably, his performance in Forest’s historic 1-0 win at Anfield against Liverpool earlier this season was one of the campaign’s highlights, demonstrating his ability to deliver in high-stakes matches.

### **Aina’s Commitment to Forest**
While the financial lure of Saudi Arabia was tempting, Aina’s commitment to Forest seems resolute.

Back in September, he expressed his happiness at the club and his desire to contribute to its ongoing growth. *“I’m really happy at Forest. It’s a fantastic club

I feel at home here, and we’re all building something special,”* Aina said.

He also acknowledged the positive atmosphere within the squad, noting that the team’s early success this season has built on the optimism that carried them through challenges last year.

Nuno also provided an update on Aina’s contract talks, expressing his admiration for the player both on and off the pitch.

*“We love what Ola is doing. We love him as a player and as a person.

The discussions are going well, but the club’s management handles that,”* the manager explained during a press conference ahead of Forest’s clash with Ipswich Town.

### **Looking Ahead: Forest’s Ambitions for 2025**

Securing Aina’s contract extension is part of Forest’s broader strategy to build a competitive squad for the future.

The club is reportedly exploring potential signings for 2025, with Brazilian strikers Yuri Alberto (Corinthians) and Igor Jesus (Botafogo) on their radar.

Additionally, Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney has been scouted as Forest looks to bolster its options across the pitch.

Aina’s commitment, combined with the club’s recruitment plans, signals a bright future for Forest as they aim to solidify their position in the Premier League.

With Aina playing a pivotal role, Forest’s journey toward continued success appears firmly on track.
