Nuno Espirito Santo remains optimistic about the availability of both Murillo and Ryan Yates for Forest’s upcoming Premier League match at Brentford’s Gtech Community Stadium.
Both players faced fitness concerns during last week’s dramatic victory over Aston Villa – Murillo requiring a second-half substitution, while Yates showed signs of discomfort after the match.
With no midweek cup commitments to manage, both players have been given valuable recovery time. The squad’s injury list is expected to remain limited to just Ibrahim Sangare (thigh) and Danilo (ankle), while Alex Moreno returns to contention after being ineligible against his parent club Villa.
Moreno’s return could signal a defensive reshuffle, with the Spaniard likely to replace Neco Williams at left-back. The rest of the defensive unit – Ola Aina, Nikola Milenkovic, and goalkeeper Matz Sels – looks set to remain unchanged.
In midfield, Elliot Anderson’s standout performance against Villa should secure his starting position.
If Yates is deemed fit, Nicolas Dominguez might lose his place to accommodate Anthony Elanga, whose match-winning contribution against Villa makes a compelling case for his inclusion alongside Morgan Gibbs-White, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and the in-form Chris Wood in attack.
The projected lineup shapes up as: Sels in goal; a back four of Aina, Milenkovic, Murillo, and Moreno; Yates partnering Anderson in midfield; and an attacking quartet of Elanga, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi supporting Wood up front.
