“Neal Maupay Slams Former Everton Teammates with Savage Attack After Nottingham Forest Loss – While Still on Loan!”

Neal Maupay has once again aimed a sharp jab at his former club, Everton, following their 2-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest at Goodison Park on Sunday.

Maupay, 28, has been on loan at Roberto De Zerbi’s Marseille since leaving Everton in August. Prior to this, he spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Brentford, where he found the net eight times in 31 appearances. Despite his ongoing loan to the Ligue 1 side, it’s clear that Maupay isn’t well-liked on Merseyside.

During his time at Everton, Maupay managed just one goal in 32 appearances. His lackluster performance on the pitch was only worsened by his provocative social media behavior, which particularly frustrated the Toffees’ fanbase. When journalist Fabrizio Romano tweeted about Maupay’s move to Marseille, the striker posted a clip from *The Shawshank Redemption* in which Andy Dufresne escapes from prison, a move widely seen as a dig at his time at Everton.

Earlier in the season, after Everton suffered a humiliating 4-0 loss to Tottenham in August, Maupay took to social media to lash out at the club’s supporters. In a tweet, he wrote: “Imagine another job where it’s normalised to get abuse like this,” accompanying a video of him being verbally harassed at a train station.

Maupay’s latest comments came after Everton’s 2-0 defeat to second-place Nottingham Forest. He tweeted: “Whenever I’m having a bad day, I just check the Everton score and smile,” a remark that didn’t sit well with many Everton fans.

One supporter fired back, saying: “We’re awful, we know that. Yet in 39 years of watching Everton, you are the worst I’ve ever seen. And I’ve seen some utter dross. So probably best you don’t pipe up.” Another added: “In our hall of fame for one of the worst players to put on a blue shirt.”

Ex-boxer and Everton fan Tony Bellew didn’t hold back, simply calling him a “p****”. A third fan chimed in with, “Craig Dawson scored more goals for us than you did, mate.”

Maupay wasn’t done, though. When one fan threatened to “snap” him the next time he played against Everton, the French striker responded with typical bravado: “See you in the Champions League next season!” before quickly correcting himself with: “*Championship*,” taking a swipe at Everton’s current position just three points above the relegation zone.
