“Crystal Palace Target High-Profile January Signing – Club Insists on ‘Truly Irresistible’ Offer to Make It Happen!”

On December 21, journalist Sacha Tavolieri reported that Crystal Palace had initiated discussions with Benfica regarding a potential move for Jan-Niklas Beste during the January transfer window.

Despite Palace’s interest, subsequent reports from Portugal indicated that Benfica has no plans to let the 26-year-old leave mid-season.

Beste, who primarily operates as a left winger but is also capable of playing as a left-back, remains a key target for Crystal Palace. However, Friday’s edition of *A Bola* reiterates Benfica’s firm stance on retaining the German player.

Since joining the Lisbon club last summer, Beste has primarily served as a backup option, making just five league starts and none in the Champions League.

Despite limited playing time, his versatility has drawn interest not only from Crystal Palace but also from Bundesliga clubs Borussia Mönchengladbach, VfB Stuttgart, and RB Leipzig.

While the Bundesliga trio are reportedly assessing the player’s potential, Crystal Palace have already made contact to explore a transfer.

However, Benfica are reluctant to part ways with Beste, who is under contract until 2029 and has a €50 million release clause.

According to *A Bola*, Benfica would require a “truly irresistible” offer to consider selling Beste in January.

Despite the hefty release clause, it’s suggested that Benfica might be willing to accept a lower fee.

While €50 million appears unrealistic for any of the interested clubs, an offer in the region of €15 million could potentially be enough to secure Beste’s services.

For now, Crystal Palace will need to weigh up whether to meet Benfica’s demands or explore alternative options as they aim to bolster their squad.
