Forest came out on top, marking the start of an exciting new chapter for the club. Meanwhile, the defeat sent Huddersfield into a challenging period that has seen them drop to fourth place in League One, while Forest have climbed to third in the Premier League standings.
However, not all players from Forest’s promotion-winning squad have found smooth sailing. Harry Toffolo has fallen out of favor at the City Ground, following a similar trajectory to former teammate Lewis O’Brien. O’Brien, who has struggled to secure a permanent place at Forest, has had loan spells with D.C. United, Middlesbrough, and most recently, Los Angeles FC.
According to Sky Sports, Nottingham Forest are now open to offers for both Toffolo and O’Brien as part of their January transfer plans.
Also reportedly available is forward Emmanuel Dennis, who was linked with Leeds United in 2023. Additionally, Republic of Ireland international Andrew Omobamidele is on the market. The 22-year-old center-back has struggled for game time since joining Forest from Norwich City. Omobamidele has been linked to both Leeds and Sheffield United and has a connection with Leeds manager Daniel Farke, who introduced him to first-team football during his time in charge of Norwich.
