Crystal Palace are reportedly showing interest in Botafogo winger Luiz Henrique, but they may need to move quickly as Serie A side Fiorentina are also targeting the 24-year-old, according to **Labaro Viola**.

Henrique has caught the attention of European clubs after an impressive season in Brazil, where he played a crucial role for Botafogo. Known for his blistering speed, Henrique made 35 appearances in the 2024 Brazilian Serie A, scoring seven goals and providing three assists while racking up 2,556 minutes on the pitch. These performances have made him one of the standout talents in South America.

Fiorentina, viewing Henrique as their primary target for January, are reportedly preparing to offload Christian Kouame and Jonathan Ikoné to free up squad space and funds. The Italian club is believed to be lining up a €20m (£17m) bid, but Botafogo have set a higher asking price of €30m (£25m), which could open the door for other suitors like Crystal Palace to swoop in. Reports suggest Fiorentina may increase their bid soon, which means Palace must act decisively if they want to land the winger.

Henrique had a previous stint in Europe with Real Betis but struggled to find his form, managing just four goals in 64 appearances over an 18-month period. He returned to Brazil in February 2024, where he quickly rediscovered his best form and re-established himself as a player of interest for European clubs.

While Palace are monitoring Henrique’s situation, their immediate focus seems to be on securing the signing of Millwall winger Romain Esse. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the 19-year-old is close to joining the Eagles on a long-term deal, potentially becoming the club’s first acquisition of the January window. Esse has impressed in the Championship and is expected to add depth to Palace’s attacking options.

It remains uncertain whether Palace will make a concrete move for Henrique, particularly with Fiorentina stepping up their efforts. However, if the Eagles are serious about bringing the pacey winger to Selhurst Park, they will need to navigate the competition quickly and meet Botafogo’s valuation.

Henrique’s combination of speed and attacking threat could make him an exciting addition to Palace’s squad, as they look to strengthen their forward line for the second half of the season.
