Meanwhile, Sunderland have confirmed the departure of Adil Aouchiche, who has joined Portsmouth on loan for the remainder of the 2024-25 season. Since arriving at the Stadium of Light in September 2023, the French attacking midfielder has made 38 appearances in all competitions but struggled to cement a regular starting role, with only 13 league starts to his name and just three this season. His loan move to Fratton Park not only offers him the chance for more consistent game time but also frees up squad space and budget flexibility for Sunderland to pursue additional signings before the transfer window closes. Notably, there’s no obligation for Portsmouth to make the move permanent.
Commenting on Aouchiche’s exit, Speakman said, *“Adil has worked hard and contributed when called upon, proving to be a great teammate.
