“Shock Selection! David Moyes Names Surprise Starter for Everton Clash vs Crystal Palace”

“David Moyes Rolls the Dice with Surprise Everton Starter in High-Stakes Clash vs Crystal Palace”

As Everton prepare to face Crystal Palace, David Moyes has made a bold call in his starting XI, handing Carlos Alcaraz his first start for the club. With Everton still dealing with the fallout from their fiery draw against Liverpool—including pundit clashes between Paul Merson and Mike Dean—Moyes will be eager to secure a drama-free three points at Selhurst Park.

However, not everyone is optimistic about Everton’s chances. Alan Shearer has cast doubt on their prospects, and Moyes’ selection decisions might only add to their challenges. The team remains largely unchanged from their Liverpool showdown but will be missing two key figures—Abdoulaye Doucouré (suspended) and Iliman Ndiaye (injured). In response, Moyes has called upon Jack Harrison and Alcaraz, with the latter set for his first real test in Everton colors.

Alcaraz’s lack of experience with the squad could prove a stumbling block, while Harrison’s inconsistent form this season may leave Everton vulnerable to Palace’s attacking threats. Still, the Toffees have a golden opportunity—victory would see them climb as high as 12th in the Premier League and edge closer to safety ahead of their move to Bramley-Moore Dock next season.

While Everton are no longer immediate relegation candidates, a loss would allow rival teams to close in, keeping them uncomfortably close to danger. Moyes has steadied the ship since his return to Goodison Park, but to keep the momentum going, a win at Selhurst Park is crucial. Will his selection gamble pay off, or will Palace expose Everton’s weaknesses?
