Manager Vitor Pereira prioritized reinforcing both defense and midfield, securing Emmanuel Agbadou before sealing Deadline Day deals for Nasser Djiga and Marshall Munetsi. These signings contributed to Wolves becoming the league’s second-highest spenders in January, behind only Manchester City.
Sarabia Set to Exit
As part of Pereira’s long-term strategy, squad reshuffling is expected at the end of the season, with some departures on the horizon. One player who appears certain to leave is Pablo Sarabia.
The Spanish midfielder arrived from Paris Saint-Germain in January 2023 on a two-and-a-half-year contract, meaning his deal expires this summer. However, his performances have failed to justify an extension.
Journalists Nathan Judah and Liam Keen predict Sarabia’s time at Molineux is coming to an end. Keen stated, “I just don’t see him starting many games between now and May.” Judah added, “I’m almost certain he won’t be a Wolves player next season. His spell here has been disappointing—it hasn’t worked out, has it?”
Sarabia’s £90,000-a-week wages place him among the club’s highest earners, yet his impact has been underwhelming. Across 64 appearances, he has managed just 17 direct goal involvements, a return far below expectations given Wolves’ £4.4 million investment in him.
Pereira’s Fresh Approach
Following a lackluster display against Liverpool, Sarabia may struggle to earn more playing time before the season ends. With Marshall Munetsi and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde impressing in the final third, the duo is expected to start against Bournemouth, further diminishing Sarabia’s role in the squad.
As Wolves embrace a new era under Pereira, it appears increasingly likely that Sarabia will be among those making way this summer.
