Santiago Bueno was at the heart of Wolves’ downfall on Tuesday night, as Vitor Pereira’s side suffered a 2-1 loss to Fulham.

Pereira explained, “He’s a little bit more aggressive now because he knows that here the striker goes direct on the body.

You must go direct in the duel and understand the qualities, the skills of the opponent—his movements, his approach in aerial duels, and when he receives the ball.”

Pereira highlighted the need to anticipate whether the striker likes to attack space, rotate, or make counter-movements.

Though Bueno struggled to deal with the physicality of Fulham’s attack, it’s promising that work is being done to help him use his body more effectively, particularly against stronger opponents.

Meanwhile, Nasser Djiga, who was signed for £10 million on transfer deadline day, is still waiting for his first start for Wolves.

He made a brief 17-minute appearance off the bench against Bournemouth, showing some promising qualities despite a few shaky moments.
