AliousBrøndby IF’s rising star, Clement Bischoff, has voiced his frustration over a collapsed transfer to Brighton & Hove Albion. The 19-year-old opened up about the ordeal to Danish reporters, with *Tipsbladet* relaying his remarks.
Earlier reports from Denmark suggested that Brighton had reached an agreement with Brøndby for Bischoff’s summer move to The Amex. On February 6th, *Tipsbladet* revealed that the left-back had traveled to England for medical tests with the Seagulls. However, just four days later, the same outlet reported that the deal fell apart due to a last-minute disagreement between the two clubs.
### **Bischoff Reflects on the Collapse of His Brighton Move**
Addressing the failed transfer, Bischoff kept his comments brief but acknowledged how difficult the situation was.
“I can’t say much other than that it didn’t happen and that I’ve moved on. But it was a hard few days and something I thought about a lot. Now I’m looking forward to playing again and progressing,” he said.
When asked whether he had fully moved past the setback, Bischoff reiterated his ambition to secure a transfer abroad.
“Yes, I think so. I have a plan and I’m working every day to make this move abroad. This was a really good opportunity for me, but it is what it is. If I keep doing it right, I know the opportunity will come again,” he explained.
He admitted that the disappointment hit him hard initially but emphasized the importance of staying focused.
“Yes, at the moment I’m disappointed, and in the first days, it was tough. But you don’t get anything out of burying yourself.”
### **Why the Deal Fell Apart**
While Bischoff avoided revealing specific details, he hinted that negotiations became too complex.
“It’s hard for me to say because I can’t get into the details. There are a lot of things in these pre-agreements. They are a bit more complicated, and the parties couldn’t agree in the end. That’s how it is,” he added.
### **What’s Next for Bischoff?**
Despite his aspirations to move abroad, a future deal with Brighton seems unlikely. Danish outlet *BT* recently reported that both parties have no intention of reopening talks.
For now, Bischoff isn’t ruling out extending his contract with Brøndby, which runs until June 2026.
“We [sporting director Benjamin Schmedes and his camp] have agreed that we’re calm, but it’s something to talk about,” he stated.
Although he believed Brighton’s development plan for young players was ideal for him, Bischoff remains open to all options.
“I felt this was the right thing for me because there was a good plan and Brighton are good with young players, but it’s definitely an option to extend or move in the summer. I’m not closing any options, but it’s something we need to think about.”
