Barco has struggled to break into Sevilla’s squad, failing to convince either García Pimienta or his predecessor to give him a consistent role. As a result, all parties involved have been exploring ways to cut his loan spell short.

Despite efforts to facilitate his departure, finding a resolution has been far from straightforward. Brighton is reportedly uninterested in recalling him at this stage, and a potential move to Porto has also fallen through. With no clear destination, Barco remains in limbo at Sevilla, eager to leave but with no confirmed exit route. His current manager acknowledged the situation, stating that the player is indeed looking for an escape.
“Yes, he has some discomfort in his hamstring and has not trained with the group during the week,” Pimienta said.
“The truth is that he is looking for a way out. The thing is that you never know when these things will happen, but it would be normal for Valentín to leave. And yes, for me, it would be quite important for a left-back to arrive because I think the squad needs one.”
With time running out, Barco’s future remains uncertain as Sevilla looks to offload him while also searching for a suitable replacement.
