AliousWolverhampton Wanderers striker Matheus Cunha has been hit with an additional one-match ban and a £50,000 fine following an incident in the FA Cup fifth-round clash against AFC Bournemouth on March 1, 2025.
The Brazilian forward was originally sent off deep into extra time—around the 121st minute—after a heated altercation with Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez. However, his subsequent conduct after the red card led to further disciplinary measures.
Extended Suspension Adds to Wolves’ Woes
With this latest ruling, Cunha’s suspension now totals four matches. He has already been forced to sit out Premier League fixtures against Everton and Southampton and will also miss upcoming games against West Ham United on April 1 and Ipswich Town on April 5.
Barring any further sanctions, he will be eligible to return for Wolves’ match against Tottenham Hotspur on April 13.
Repeat Offender: Cunha’s Second Ban of the Season
This is not the first time Cunha has faced disciplinary action this campaign.
In December 2024, he was handed a two-match suspension and an £80,000 fine following a post-match altercation with Ipswich Town security staff after a heated Premier League encounter.
