Brighton & Hove Albion are reportedly open to parting ways with star winger Kaoru Mitoma this summer, should Saudi Arabian powerhouse Al Nassr come forward with an acceptable offer, sources have told *Football Insider.
The Saudi Pro League club previously had a bid of nearly £55 million turned down in the January transfer window, but are now expected to return with an improved proposal as they remain determined to land the Japan international. Mitoma, 27, is said to be a high-priority target for Al Nassr, who are eager to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming season.
With just two years remaining on Mitoma’s contract at the Amex Stadium, Brighton are not expected to block his departure if the financial terms are favorable. Given Saudi clubs’ vast financial power, Al Nassr are likely to test Brighton’s willingness to cash in during the summer.
The Seagulls could secure a significant profit on the winger, having signed him for just £2.5 million from Kawasaki Frontale back in 2021. Mitoma has enjoyed a strong season, tallying nine goals and three assists in 37 appearances across all competitions. His performances have also solidified his role in the Japan national team, who were the first country to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
David Moyes Eyes Evan Ferguson for Everton
In other transfer developments, Football Insider reports that Everton boss David Moyes is targeting Brighton forward Evan Ferguson as a key addition to his squad this summer. The 19-year-old is currently struggling for form and minutes, with just seven appearances and no goals at West Ham under Graham Potter. This dip in momentum could allow Everton to secure the young striker for a fee lower than Brighton had initially anticipated.
