David Moyes is set to benefit from major structural and strategic support this summer as Everton’s new owners, the Friedkin Group (TFG), lay the groundwork for a transformative transfer window at Goodison Park.
With Premier League safety secured and the shadow of relegation banished, excitement is building ahead of the 2024/25 season. Under fresh ownership, Everton are entering a new chapter—one marked by optimism, strategic planning, and the long-awaited move to the Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium.
TFG, who have replaced the often-criticized Farhad Moshiri, are not wasting time. Transfer speculation is already rife, with West Ham’s Tomas Soucek and Liverpool prospect Ben Doak among the names being linked. However, with strict Profit and Sustainability Regulations (PSR) in play, the club’s recruitment must be calculated and efficient.
To that end, TFG are reportedly in negotiations to acquire a data analytics company that would aid Moyes and his team in identifying suitable transfer targets. According to *City AM*, this move follows an internal review of Everton’s football operations, which has prompted significant restructuring—including the departure of sporting director Kevin Thelwell.
The data firm, if acquired, would be tasked with conducting initial scouting and recruitment assessments and could also serve the group’s other football asset, AS Roma. Moyes, new chief executive Angus Kinnear (joining from Leeds United), and recently added transfer consultant Nicky Hammond will all play central roles in final decision-making.
Despite high hopes, Everton aren’t expected to splurge in the market this summer. TFG’s focus appears to be on laying a sustainable foundation for long-term success, rather than engaging in expensive short-term fixes.
Moyes, who replaced Sean Dyche in February, has already impressed by guiding the Toffees to safety with a comfortable 17-point cushion above the relegation zone and four matches still to play. His influence has stabilized the club and now sets the tone for a more ambitious future.
As part of this rebuilding process, Everton are also prioritizing retention. Talks have begun over a contract extension for veteran midfielder Idrissa Gueye, while discussions are expected for key figures like Jarrad Branthwaite, Abdoulaye Doucoure, and goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
