Reports suggest Leeds United are preparing for their Premier League return by targeting experienced midfielders.

According to The Sun, Leeds will compete with Everton for Newcastle United’s Sean Longstaff, who carries a £10 million valuation.

Despite accumulating over 200 appearances for Newcastle since his 2018 debut, the 27-year-old Longstaff has struggled for consistent playing time recently, with Eddie Howe preferring other midfield options.

With just one year remaining on his contract, the box-to-box midfielder could be available despite making 31 appearances this season.

Former Leeds player David Prutton endorsed the potential move, highlighting Longstaff’s work ethic and big-club experience as valuable assets.

Prutton noted that while financial considerations are important, Leeds must equip themselves properly for Premier League competition.

Meanwhile, TBR Football reports that Leeds have shown interest in Bayern Munich’s Eric Dier.

The former Tottenham defender, who has made 13 league starts under Vincent Kompany this season, has reportedly been discussing options with several Premier League clubs.

However, the 31-year-old England international appears likely to reject Premier League suitors in favor of a two-year deal with Monaco in Ligue 1.

Leeds United, who can secure the Championship title by defeating Plymouth Argyle this weekend, are expected to be active in the transfer market following their promotion back to the top flight.
