Giovanni van Bronckhorst has admitted he’s aware of speculation linking him to a managerial return with Leeds United, as the Championship club eyes a potential shake-up under their incoming owners, 49ers Enterprises.

The Dutchman, who previously led Rangers to a Europa League final, didn’t dismiss talk of a switch to Elland Road while speaking to Dutch media. Though he remained coy, Van Bronckhorst confessed he finds the club appealing and hinted at a desire to return to management following his recent departure from Besiktas late last year.

“There’s nothing going on at the moment,” Van Bronckhorst stated. “But Leeds is definitely a great club. I’m enjoying life, but it would be good to be back on the pitch.”

With Leeds’ promotion to the Premier League secured, current boss Daniel Farke is under pressure despite success, as the American-led ownership reportedly explores ambitious options to lead them forward.

Adding fuel to the fire, Van Bronckhorst’s former Rangers teammate Ronald de Boer has endorsed the move, calling Leeds a “sleeping giant” and suggesting his countryman could be the ideal fit to awaken the club’s full potential.

“I think it would be a nice club for him,” De Boer said. “Leeds has the potential to become very big again.”
