Wolves Boss Jokes About Star’s Condition After Injury Scare But Confirms Double Concern
Wolves manager Vitor Pereira offered a mix of humor and honesty following his team’s clash with Brighton, responding to injury concerns surrounding midfielder Andre with a light-hearted remark but also confirming two players are dealing with fitness worries.
Andre sparked concern when he limped off in the 89th minute, appearing uncomfortable as he exited the pitch.
However, Pereira clarified in his post-match press conference that the £21 million summer signing is not injured, attributing the substitution to sheer exhaustion.
“No, I don’t think so,” Pereira replied when asked about a potential injury, before joking: “But dead, yes—dead! At the end, dead!” His tongue-in-cheek comment helped ease fears, and it’s expected that Andre will be available for Wolves’ upcoming games against Crystal Palace and Brentford.
Despite the relief regarding Andre, Pereira did acknowledge ongoing fitness issues for two other unnamed players, which could pose challenges as Wolves aim to finish the season on a high.
