Brighton table bold £30m bid for teenage sensation, throwing major wrench in Arsenal’s transfer plans as competition intensifies for highly-rated youngster impressing across multiple attacking positions.

Brighton & Hove Albion have reportedly tabled a bold £30 million offer, including forward Abdallah Sima, in a bid to secure Olympiacos teenage sensation Charalampos Kostoulas — dealing a major setback to Arsenal’s transfer ambitions.

The Gunners had previously shown strong interest in the 17-year-old striker, making formal contact earlier this year. Other Premier League clubs such as Aston Villa, Manchester United, and Brentford were also linked with the Greek prospect. However, Brighton now appear to be leading the race for his signature.

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein and Andy Naylor, Brighton’s offer — which would be a significant investment for a teenager — is expected to be turned down by Olympiacos, who are keen to retain Kostoulas and insist on including a sell-on clause in any future deal.

Kostoulas has made 35 appearances this season, netting seven goals and providing two assists. His output is even more impressive considering he has frequently been deployed out of position, often in midfield or on the flanks rather than as a central striker.

While Arsenal also had eyes on Kostoulas’ teammate Christos Mouzakitis, the hefty price tag on the former may cause the Gunners to reassess their priorities. For now, Brighton’s aggressive move has thrown their pursuit off balance and underlined the growing competition for Europe’s brightest young talents.
