Key Brighton Staff Member Departs Amex Stadium Amid Fabian Hurzeler’s Ongoing Squad Overhaul

Brighton & Hove Albion have seen the departure of Marc Knoop, the club’s set-piece and goalkeeping coach, as part of the continuing changes under head coach Fabian Hurzeler. Knoop, a familiar figure on matchdays in the technical area, played a crucial role in organizing the team’s defense during set-piece situations.

Reflecting on his time at the club, Knoop shared heartfelt sentiments, saying, “It’s been a privilege to be part of this incredible football club this season. We created some unforgettable memories, and although I leave with a heavy heart, I am immensely proud of what we achieved, helping Brighton secure one of their best Premier League finishes.”

He praised Hurzeler’s leadership, adding, “Fabian is an exceptional head coach, and I’m confident he will lead Brighton to real success. I am grateful to him, as well as Tony, Paul, and David, for the chance to be part of the club’s Premier League journey.”

Knoop, aged 46, previously collaborated with Hurzeler at German club St Pauli, strengthening their working relationship. Despite his exit, Brighton’s specialist goalkeeping coach Jack Stern remains in place.

After finishing eighth in the Premier League last season, Brighton are actively seeking to recruit a new specialist set-piece coach as part of their summer preparations to build on their recent successes and continue evolving under Hurzeler’s guidance.
