Brighton & Hove Albion have officially added a new executive director to their leadership team, marking another step in the club’s strategic growth on and off the pitch. According to information confirmed by *Football Insider*, Rosemary Read has joined the board at the Amex Stadium following a Companies House filing dated 2 June.
Read has been a long-serving figure within the club, having led Brighton’s people and culture division for 15 years after her move from Sussex County Cricket Club in 2010. Her promotion comes as part of the club’s internal evolution and ongoing pursuit of their “Vision 2030” goals — a plan developed in collaboration with CEO Paul Barber to sustain the club’s upward trajectory in both football and business.
This change is the latest in a series of boardroom reshuffles. Last summer, directors Derek Chapman and Marc Sugarman departed, paving the way for the appointments of Anna Jones and Paul Brown as non-executive directors. The current board now includes club owner Tony Bloom, alongside Robert Comer, Ray Bloom, Lee Cooper, Adam Franks, Peter Godfrey, Paul Mullen, Michelle Walder, and the aforementioned Read, Jones, and Brown.
### Brighton Breaks Financial Records Amid Strategic Expansion
The off-field progress complements a year of exceptional financial growth for the Seagulls. The club recently reported a record-breaking turnover of £260.9 million for the 2023-24 season — a significant rise from the £204.5 million figure posted the previous year. This impressive growth was driven by increased broadcast revenue (£163.8 million), a rise in matchday income (£27.9 million), and improved commercial earnings (£20.9 million), all bolstered by their participation in the UEFA Europa League.
Brighton also posted a club-record pre-tax profit of £73.3 million, greatly aided by the landmark £115 million transfer of Moises Caicedo to Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Brighton are also making moves to bolster their squad ahead of the new season. The club is intensifying efforts to secure the signing of Southampton right-back Kyle Walker-Peters, who is nearing the end of his contract and will become a free agent on 30 June.
Although Brighton are believed to be among the frontrunners for the 27-year-old’s signature, multiple Premier League rivals have reportedly made contact with the England international, suggesting stiff competition for his services.
Under the leadership of new head coach Fabian Hürzeler, Brighton wrapped up the 2024-25 season in a commendable eighth place. With boardroom reinforcements, strong financial footing, and strategic transfer pursuits underway, the Seagulls appear well-positioned to build on their recent success.
