Sunderland Secure Rising Star After Standout Trial – Academy Adds Talented Teen with Big Potential

Sunderland have continued to bolster their academy ranks with the signing of 18-year-old Isaac Allan, a promising young talent who joins the Black Cats from Lincoln City after a successful trial spell. Allan has penned his first professional deal and will link up with Graeme Murty’s U21 squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The teenager built a strong reputation within Lincoln City’s youth setup after arriving as a scholar in 2022. Quickly cementing his place as the U18s’ first-choice option, he played a key role in their U17 Floodlit Cup triumph and also gained early senior exposure through regular first-team training sessions. His development was further highlighted when he was named on the bench for a League One match against Bristol Rovers.

Known for his calm presence, agility, and ability to play out from the back, Allan stood out during his trial with Sunderland late last season—earning admiration from the coaching staff.

Academy manager Robin Nicholls shared his enthusiasm:

> “We’re thrilled to bring Isaac on board. He impressed us with both his skill set and professionalism during his trial. He has the physical profile we value and has already demonstrated the attributes we prioritize in this role. We’re excited to support his continued growth in our environment.”

Allan now becomes the latest addition to Sunderland’s growing pipeline of youth prospects as the club continues investing in its long-term development strategy.
