Everton tipped to complete £30m swoop for Gabriel Jesus as Arsenal outcast weighs up exit

Gabriel Jesus’ Premier League journey has faltered in recent years, with his Arsenal spell failing to live up to expectations.

The Brazilian forward, who joined the Gunners from Manchester City in 2022 hoping to lead the line, has struggled to consistently deliver goals. Arsenal’s summer signing of Viktor Gyökeres has now pushed him further down the pecking order, limiting his chances of regular football.

That situation has alerted Everton, who have long battled to find a reliable striker. Thierno Barry has yet to open his account this season, while Beto’s poor form has deepened the Merseyside club’s attacking woes. Former scout Bryan King believes Jesus could be the answer, backing Everton to move for him in January.

Speaking to Goodison News, King suggested a deal in the £25m–£30m range could be possible, adding that Jesus might be tempted by guaranteed playing time at Goodison Park. “He could form an intriguing partnership with Beto. If Everton have the funds, he’d be a very good signing,” King argued.

Jesus, who hit double figures consistently at City, has managed only 15 goals across the last two seasons in Arsenal colours. While the 27-year-old’s pedigree is undeniable, doubts remain over whether he can rediscover his best form in an Everton shirt.

Some observers believe David Moyes should instead prioritise a proven, in-form goalscorer who can make an immediate impact, warning that Jesus could turn out to be another costly gamble.
