Italian reports this week suggested that Sunderland could revisit a move for Bologna defender Jhon Lucumí — a player they made serious efforts to land in the summer.
Calciomercato claimed Bologna may now be willing to consider offers around £12.1 million, roughly half of what Sunderland were believed to have offered previously.
However, Wearside sources made clear last October that Lucumí was not being considered as a January target, with the club pivoting toward different defensive options following the loan addition of Lutsharel Geertruida.
Updates on Matteo Guendouzi & Jobe Bellingham
A major development surfaced regarding Matteo Guendouzi. Journalist Giulio Cardone told RadioSei that Sunderland tabled a £21.4 million (€25m) bid for the French midfielder — though Guendouzi is said to favour a return to England elsewhere.
Cardone said:

Newcastle United are also reportedly interested, and more competition is expected from clubs across Europe.
