West Ham Eye Andrea Pinamonti as Striker Search Intensifies Amid Serie A Competition

West Ham United are reportedly preparing to reignite their pursuit of Italian forward Andrea Pinamonti, with the Sassuolo striker emerging as a leading candidate to strengthen the club’s attacking options in the year ahead.

According to reports from Italy, the Hammers are actively exploring the market for a new centre-forward and have identified the 26-year-old as a strong fit for their plans. Pinamonti’s profile, experience, and steady development in Serie A have put him firmly on West Ham’s radar as they look to add greater firepower to their squad.

However, West Ham face stiff competition for his signature. Italian heavyweights AC Milan and Lazio are also monitoring the striker’s situation closely, with all signs pointing toward Pinamonti departing Sassuolo in either the January window or next summer as he seeks a fresh challenge.

Pinamonti’s Journey and Rise at Sassuolo

Pinamonti’s career has been marked by steady progression since his move from Inter Milan to Sassuolo. A product of Inter’s youth system, the Italian international struggled initially to establish himself at the highest level but has gradually found consistency over the past four seasons.

The forward spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Genoa, a move that helped sharpen his game before returning to Sassuolo this season. He has since contributed four goals and one assist in 14 Serie A appearances, playing a key role in Sassuolo’s push into the top half of the table. His performances have not gone unnoticed, with several clubs now weighing up potential moves.

Premier League Interest Grows

West Ham had previously considered a move for Pinamonti during the summer transfer window, but negotiations failed to progress. Their renewed interest comes amid uncertainty in the current forward line. Niclas Füllkrug is reportedly open to a change after an underwhelming spell in East London, while Callum Wilson’s age and injury history raise questions about his ability to lead the line consistently across a full season.

As a result, West Ham are assessing multiple striker options, with Pinamonti viewed as a realistic and attainable target. Still, the presence of AC Milan and Lazio ensures any deal will be far from straightforward.

With Pinamonti expected to move on from Sassuolo in the coming months, his next destination remains uncertain. Whether he heads to the Premier League or stays in Serie A will depend on how the transfer battle unfolds—but West Ham are clearly positioning themselves to be part of the race.
