Fresh insight has emerged regarding the future of Roma striker Artem Dovbyk, with growing interest from the Premier League but no immediate certainty over a January move.
According to reports, there remains genuine attention on the Ukrainian forward from English clubs. Sunderland are understood to be exploring the possibility of a deal, while West Ham are continuing to keep close tabs on his situation. Despite suggestions that his profile has dipped, Dovbyk is very much still on the radar.
There had also been strong interest from Saudi Arabian sides earlier in the year, with significant financial backing behind those approaches. However, it is now unclear whether a move to the Middle East is still a realistic or attractive option for the striker at this stage.
Dovbyk’s output this season has been modest, with just two goals and one assist in 14 appearances, leading sections of the Italian press to speculate that Roma could be open to parting ways. Those claims, however, appear to be premature.
Roma are not currently pushing the player towards an exit. Despite inconsistent form, new head coach Gian Piero Gasperini is believed to still value Dovbyk and sees him as part of his plans, reducing the urgency for any immediate decision.
As things stand, a transfer in the next window is far from guaranteed. Any club hoping to secure Dovbyk’s signature will need to work hard on two fronts — persuading the player that the move is right for his career, and convincing Roma to sanction a sale. For Sunderland, that represents a significant challenge if they are to turn interest into a completed deal.
