Ederson has been one of the standout midfielders in Serie A this season, capping off an impressive campaign with a brilliant performance in Atalanta’s 3-0 Europa League final victory over Bayer Leverkusen.
The Mirror claims that several top European clubs, including Tottenham, had been monitoring the Brazilian even before the final in Dublin. However, with Atalanta securing Champions League qualification, the Italian club feels no obligation to sell their star midfielder, especially as they are expected to lose fellow midfielder Teun Koopmeiners this summer.
The report states that it would take an offer close to £50 million for Atalanta to even consider sanctioning Ederson’s exit.
According to the outlet, it is Fabio Paratici who recommended the player to Tottenham, as the club is keen on adding a defensive midfielder to their squad after deciding to put Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg on the transfer list.
The Mirror also mentions that Ederson is of interest to Newcastle United, who have scouted him extensively and view him as a potential replacement for Bruno Guimaraes. Additionally, the 24-year-old has reportedly attracted interest from Juventus, while Barcelona ‘appreciate his talent’.
