AliousCrysencio Summerville’s agents seem to be putting in extra effort to generate transfer interest for their top client.
As reported by the Telegraph, Chelsea is among the clubs showing interest in the 22-year-old forward, who topped the scoring charts for Leeds United and was voted the Championship Player of the Season.
The Championship is certainly a popular league at the moment, isn’t it? There were earlier suggestions that Leeds would need to cut their payroll and expenses if they didn’t secure promotion.
However, since they humorously lost in the playoff final to Southampton, they are now relegated to the second division for at least another season.
So now, top-flight clubs are circling around them, or so it seems. But it’s clear that Summerville doesn’t want to spend another season playing Championship football.
The former Feyenoord prospect has also been linked with Liverpool, whose new manager also hails from Feyenoord – though Summerville was there before Arne Slot’s tenure at the club.
Summerville’s potential transfer is expected to be in the range of £30m, which isn’t considered a huge amount in today’s market.
