The England manager Gareth Southgate has specifically mentioned a midfielder that Tottenham Hotspur is interested in acquiring. This player is James Maddison, who is also a part of the England squad and is aiming to impress Southgate in the upcoming week
Maddison has faced challenges since his return from an ankle injury in January, but he was still included in Southgate’s provisional 33-man squad for the Euros.
Southgate’s selection was quite surprising as it included unexpected names and left out some familiar ones, such as Jordan Henderson and Marcus Rashford.
One player who caught the attention of Tottenham Hotspur fans is Adam Wharton. He had a memorable performance for Crystal Palace in the latter part of the previous season. Interestingly, he was on Spurs’ radar before he moved to Selhurst Park for £19 million in January.
Tottenham Hotspur has been keeping an eye on Wharton’s progress since his move to Palace. After Wharton received his well-deserved call-up to the England squad for the Euros, Southgate has been talking about Wharton’s contribution to the Premier League.
