Nottingham Forest will only enter negotiations for Murillo if bids reach at least €70 million (£60 million), according to Brazilian outlet RTI Esporte.
Interest in the 23-year-old defender is said to be growing ahead of the 2026/27 season, with Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur all monitoring his situation. However, Forest have made it clear they will not entertain offers below that valuation.
This figure represents the clearest indication yet of the club’s expectations. Earlier reports from Brazil suggested a valuation between £50m and £70m (€58m–€81m), but the latest update points to Forest only being willing to open discussions at the very top end of that range.
Murillo is now in his third campaign at the City Ground following his €14m (£12m) move from Corinthians in 2023. His estimated market value in Brazil currently stands at around €55m (£47m), highlighting just how dramatically his stock has risen.
He is not short of admirers elsewhere in Europe. AC Milan previously viewed a €30m valuation as unrealistic, which makes the new asking price even more significant. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich are reportedly aware that any deal for the Brazilian centre-back would require a substantial outlay.
Murillo’s appeal is easy to understand. Left-footed, physically strong, and composed in possession, he combines defensive presence with the ability to carry the ball forward. At 23, he also aligns with the long-term recruitment strategies favoured by Europe’s elite clubs.
Despite speculation potentially being fuelled by Forest’s league position, there is no suggestion the club are under financial pressure to sell. Instead, they appear determined to command a fee that reflects both his current performances and future potential.
Financial impact in Brazil
A €70m sale would also benefit Corinthians, who retained a 10% sell-on clause when Murillo departed in 2023. Given the original €14m transfer fee, a sale at €70m would yield a profit of €56m. Ten percent of that — approximately €5.6m (£4.8m) — would return to the Brazilian club, before solidarity payments are factored in.
A clear message to suitors
By setting a €70m benchmark, Nottingham Forest have sent a firm signal to Tottenham and other interested parties. Spurs are expected to pursue a central defender this summer amid uncertainty surrounding parts of their back line.
For now, no formal bids have been lodged. But with Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham all credited with interest, Forest have effectively established their minimum terms.
The next move will depend on whether any of those clubs are willing to meet the €70m (£60m) valuation.
