AliousEverton Close to Sealing Ndiaye Deal as Marseille Winger Undergoes Medical
Iliman Ndiaye, the Marseille winger who previously impressed in the Championship with Sheffield United, is on the verge of joining Everton.
The Senegalese international is currently undergoing a medical on Merseyside after the clubs agreed to a deal worth approximately £17 million.
Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Ndiaye has committed to a five-year contract with Everton, set to run until June 2029.
The deal structure includes an initial €18.5 million fee, with potential add-ons of €1.5 million.
This development comes in the wake of Everton’s unsuccessful negotiations with Newcastle United for winger Yankuba Minteh.
The Toffees were frontrunners for the 19-year-old’s signature, but talks stalled when Newcastle withdrew from discussions involving striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin as part of a potential double transfer.
Interestingly, Ndiaye’s move to Everton could indirectly influence Minteh’s future.
Marseille, now with a vacancy in their attacking lineup, have expressed strong interest in the young winger.
French publication Foot Mercato suggests Minteh is receptive to a move to the Ligue 1 club, although he’s also been in discussions with Lyon.
Newcastle United, meanwhile, are considering selling Minteh before the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules deadline on Sunday, June 30, albeit reluctantly.
