AliousSonny Perkins, the Leeds United forward, may have played his final match for the club following a loan move during the last year of his contract.
Adam Pope, a commentator for BBC Radio Leeds, shared on social media that Perkins’ contract is set to expire in 2025, coinciding with the announcement of his season-long loan to Leyton Orient.
The 20-year-old will spend the remainder of his Leeds contract with Orient in League One, having made just one appearance for Daniel Farke’s Championship side last season.
Perkins, who joined Leeds on a free transfer from West Ham in 2022, had a previous loan spell with Oxford United starting in August, but it was cut short in January 2024 due to limited playing time.
The young striker’s time at Leeds appears to be coming to an end, despite initial excitement surrounding his arrival during a major squad overhaul in 2022.
His most notable moment for the club was scoring a last-minute equalizer against Cardiff City in the FA Cup, but opportunities have been scarce since then.
His struggles continued during his loan at Oxford, where he managed only six appearances and one goal in the first half of the season.
This raises questions about his ability to establish himself even at the League One level, though he’ll aim to prove himself with Leyton Orient.
Regardless of how Perkins performs during his loan at Brisbane Road, it seems unlikely he’ll feature for Leeds again.
