AliousSky Sports reporter Alan Myers has indicated that Everton is quietly active in the transfer market, exploring additional signings beyond their recent acquisitions.
Myers shared this information on Twitter on 3 July, following the Toffees’ announcement of Iliman Ndiaye’s arrival from Marseille.
Ndiaye joins Tim Iroegbunam from Aston Villa and Jack Harrison, returning on loan from Leeds United, as Everton’s third major signing of the summer.
Additionally, Omari Benjamin has been added to the under-21 squad on a permanent basis.
Regarding further transfers, Myers stated, “There’s considerable activity happening behind the scenes, though I’m uncertain if any deals are close to completion.”
Manager Sean Dyche and Director of Football Kevin Thelwell are keen to bolster the squad further.
The official confirmation of Ndiaye’s signing, which had been anticipated for some time, has eased some fans’ concerns and represents another positive step in Everton’s transfer strategy.
This summer’s transfer window is showing signs of normalcy at Goodison Park, a welcome change from recent seasons.
However, financial constraints are likely due to the club’s two profit and sustainability breaches last season.
Despite these limitations, several factors are allowing Everton to pursue transfers.
These include the progressing Dan Friedkin takeover, deals completed before the 30 June PSR deadline, and potential future player sales.
The club appears to be focusing on strengthening the midfield, with reported talks for Celtic’s Matt O’Riley [HITC, 2 July] and interest in Benfica’s Florentino Luis [Record, 30 June].
While retaining Jarrad Branthwaite remains a priority, Everton fans would welcome additional depth throughout the squad, more attacking options, and possible upgrades at full-back.
