AliousWest Ham United have made a significant commitment to Max Kilman, offering the defender a lengthy seven-year contract that could see him remain with the East London club until the age of 34.
Though full contract details remain undisclosed, it’s probable that one of the seven years is an optional extension.
This structure would align with West Ham’s standard practice of securing players for a fixed period, with the club retaining the right to extend at the contract’s conclusion.
In contrast, Kurt Zouma’s situation differs.
With just one year left on his current contract, West Ham are not expected to trigger an extension clause for the French defender.
Notably, Kilman’s new agreement is reported to be free of buyout or sell-on clauses.
The £40 million transfer fee owed to Wolverhampton Wanderers will be paid in installments over a five-year period.
Additionally, Kilman’s former club, Maidenhead United, will receive a £4 million commission.
Maidenhead, currently under the management of West Ham icon Alan Devonshire, had initially anticipated a larger £8 million windfall.
However, this sum was reduced during negotiations as Wolves sought to finalize the transfer of their former captain.
