AliousFormer Everton scout Bryan King suggests that the highest bidder will likely secure Jaden Philogene’s signature, with the final decision resting on the player and his agent’s preferences.
According to David Ornstein’s report on X (formerly Twitter) on July 9, Ipswich Town has reached an £18 million agreement with Hull City for Philogene.
The 22-year-old forward is currently favoring a move to Ipswich, although Everton and Crystal Palace remain interested.
In an exclusive interview with Goodison News, King emphasized that financial considerations would likely drive Philogene’s choice. “The ultimate decision will depend on the offers presented,” King stated.
“The club offering the most attractive financial package will probably be the one to sign Philogene.”
King added, “It will be intriguing for the player to evaluate the financial proposals. In the end, the decision lies with him and his agent.”
Everton’s chances of outbidding Ipswich Town for Philogene appear slim.
The Tractor Boys seem determined to close the deal, leaving the Toffees with little time to act.
Moreover, Everton’s ability to match Ipswich’s offer is uncertain, given their recent spending and ongoing financial challenges at Goodison Park.
Sean Dyche’s team has already made significant investments in the current transfer window. Considering Everton’s well-known financial difficulties, this particular transfer might prove to be beyond their reach.
