AliousCrystal Palace is exploring options to replace Michael Olise, who recently joined Bayern Munich for over £50m.
One potential target is former Tottenham player Marcus Edwards, now at Sporting CP.
This move could benefit Spurs financially due to their retained economic rights in Edwards.
Palace aims to keep key players Marc Guehi and Eberechi Eze while finding a suitable replacement for Olise.
Edwards, a 25-year-old left-footed right winger, fits the bill as a like-for-like replacement.
Edwards left Tottenham for Vitoria de Guimaraes, with Spurs retaining 50% of his economic rights.
When he moved to Sporting CP in 2022, Spurs kept these rights, later reduced to 35% as part of the Pedro Porro transfer.
Sporting may sell Edwards for around £20m, of which Tottenham would receive £7m.
Edwards is open to returning to the Premier League and contributed 15 goal involvements in 44 appearances last season, helping Sporting win the Primeira Liga.
Palace is also considering other options, including Leeds United’s Crysencio Summerville.
The Dutch forward had an impressive Championship season, scoring 20 goals and providing 9 assists.
However, Summerville naturally plays on the left, unlike the right-sided Olise.
Leeds may consider offers around £30m for Summerville.
Palace’s pursuit of a replacement demonstrates their intent to reinforce the squad after Olise’s departure, with Tottenham potentially benefiting financially if Edwards is the chosen target.
