AliousRasmus Kristensen has secured a second consecutive loan move away from Leeds United, mirroring Jack Harrison’s earlier departure.
Both players had relegation clauses in their contracts allowing temporary exits following Leeds’ drop from the Premier League in May 2023.
While Leeds had hoped to sell Kristensen outright, they’ve reached a compromise with Eintracht Frankfurt.
The German club will take Kristensen on loan with a reported £15m option to buy, potentially netting Leeds a profit on their initial £11m investment from two years ago.
Kristensen’s time at Leeds has been challenging.
He struggled to make an impact in his debut Premier League season and a subsequent loan to Roma didn’t significantly boost his stock, though he did make Denmark’s Euro 2024 squad without playing.
At Frankfurt, Kristensen will reunite with former Leeds teammate Robin Koch, who made his loan move permanent after becoming a free agent.
This departure further depletes Leeds’ right-back options.
The club has already lost Archie Gray to Tottenham, while Conor Roberts’ loan ended, Luke Ayling left permanently, and Stuart Dallas retired.
Only the versatile Sam Byram remains as a senior option in that position.
Leeds are now actively seeking reinforcements, with reported interest in Sheffield United’s Jayden Bogle or potentially bringing Roberts back to the club.
The situation underscores the significant rebuild needed in Leeds’ defense as they aim to bounce back to the Premier League.
