BREAKING NEWS: Aston Villa to Announce Signing of EVERTON Playmaker Today! Barcelona’s Late Attempt Foiled as Villa Seal £50m Deal, Boosting Everton’s Transfer Budget!

According to Mundo Deportivo, Everton midfielder Amadou Onana will not be moving to Barcelona and is set to finalize his transfer to Aston Villa on Monday, July 22.

Despite Barcelona’s sporting director Deco being interested in Onana, the Spanish club was reportedly outpriced by Villa and unable to match their offer due to other transfer priorities.

Aston Villa has agreed to a £50 million deal with Everton for Onana, who has reportedly already passed a medical at Villa Park.

This transfer could significantly boost Everton’s summer business plans.

While Everton isn’t well-stocked in central midfield options for the upcoming season, the substantial fee for Onana could be a turning point for their transfer activities. With few other high-value assets at Goodison Park and the club determined to retain defender Jarrad Branthwaite, Onana seemed the likely candidate for a big-money transfer.

Barcelona being priced out by Aston Villa highlights the Premier League’s financial power, though Everton fans would argue this doesn’t apply equally across the entire league. Nevertheless, the £50 million transfer fee will allow Everton to profit from their initial £33 million investment when they signed Onana from Lille in 2022.

This influx of funds should provide manager Sean Dyche with a substantial budget for new signings.

England international Kalvin Phillips has been mentioned as a potential replacement for Onana, and fans are hopeful that most of the £50 million fee will be reinvested in transfers this summer.
