Manchester City is reportedly considering a move for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.
This comes amid ongoing speculation about Kevin De Bruyne’s potential transfer to Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad.
While recent reports of De Bruyne agreeing personal terms were dismissed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, City is preparing for potential changes.
Eze, who had a successful season with Palace, has also attracted interest from Tottenham.
However, if City pursues him, Spurs would likely struggle to compete.
Palace is reportedly unwilling to sell Eze for less than his £60 million release clause plus add-ons, especially after losing Michael Olise to Bayern Munich.
City is said to be impressed by Eze’s low-maintenance temperament and versatility.
In other news, Borussia Dortmund has reportedly made contact with City regarding Brazilian right-back Yan Couto.
Despite not playing a senior game for City, Couto could generate a significant profit.
He joined City in 2020 and has spent the last three seasons on loan at Girona and SC Braga.
Dortmund is interested in Couto but is unwilling to meet his £34 million release clause.
They’re hoping to negotiate a price between £17-£21 million, with Couto reportedly keen on the move.
Meanwhile, De Bruyne, whose contract expires next summer, continues to be linked with a lucrative move to Al Ittihad.
City is considering their options in light of this situation.
