AliousDaniel James has set higher goals for himself in the upcoming 2024/25 Championship season, believing he could have contributed more offensively for Leeds United last year.
During a training session, James showcased his skill with an impressive goal.
He received the ball on the right side of the penalty area, flicked it up with his right foot, leaped into the air, and volleyed it in with his left foot – all in one fluid motion.
This quick counter-attack resulted in a spectacular goal that’s difficult to fully capture in words.
Had this occurred during a Championship match at Elland Road, it would likely have gone viral on social media.
However, it was just a moment in a six-a-side training game.
When asked if he still feels a thrill from scoring such an impressive goal, even in practice, James admitted to feeling a bit of excitement, though not as much as he would in front of a packed stadium.
He added that scoring against goalkeeper Karl Darlow made it slightly more satisfying.
The interview took place on the second day of Leeds’ training camp in Germany.
James described the intense nature of their practice sessions, which involve fierce competition among teammates, including fouls, hard tackles, and heated disputes over calls.
He emphasized that this level of intensity is necessary for their preparation.
