THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY! Leeds’ Shocking Release of Playmaker Set to Haunt Them – Expert Warns of ‘Catastrophic’ Consequences!”

According to sources close to Football Insider, Sunderland is set to acquire Ian Poveda, a former Leeds United winger, on a free transfer.

The 24-year-old has reportedly completed his medical and agreed to a four-year contract with the Black Cats.

An official announcement is expected soon, with Poveda likely to join his new teammates for pre-season training.

Poveda, who came through Chelsea’s academy, joined Leeds in 2020 but saw limited playing time, making only 30 appearances over four years. His tenure included three loan spells, with the most recent at Sheffield Wednesday.

Despite his versatility on both wings, Poveda’s time at Leeds came to an end this summer when his contract expired.

With 55 Championship appearances under his belt, Poveda aims to improve on his record of three goals and five assists in the league.

He joins Sunderland as new manager Regis Le Bris looks to reshape the squad, becoming the third free transfer signing this summer after Alan Browne and Simon Moore.

The Black Cats, who recently returned from a trip to Spain, are now focusing on a series of pre-season friendlies as they prepare for the upcoming season.
