AliousCrystal Palace has faced another setback in their transfer efforts, missing out on Ryan Sessegnon who has agreed to return to Fulham.
This comes shortly after losing out on Emile Smith Rowe, also to Fulham.
The Eagles have been actively seeking to strengthen their left-back position, with Tyrick Mitchell currently their only real option.
Sessegnon had been training with Palace and even played in pre-season matches, leading many to believe his signing was imminent.
However, he ultimately chose to rejoin his former club Fulham, leaving Palace frustrated.
This development is particularly disappointing for Palace as Sessegnon was expected to join their US tour before his last-minute decision to return to Craven Cottage. Fulham reportedly beat out several other Premier League clubs for his signature.
With Sessegnon no longer an option, Palace will need to explore alternatives to bolster their left-back position. Some potential targets could include:
1. Marcos Alonso, recently released by Barcelona
2. Kieran Tierney from Arsenal, who may be available due to reduced playing time
3. Ben Chilwell, although this would be a more ambitious target
4. Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth
The club may need to act quickly, especially if rumors of Manchester United’s interest in Tyrick Mitchell materialize.
If Mitchell were to leave, Palace would need to invest significantly in a replacement.
