Ismaila Sarr is in London for a medical examination at Crystal Palace, preparing to sign a four-year contract with the club.

Palace has agreed to a deal with Marseille for approximately £12.7 million for the Senegalese winger.

Sarr, 26, previously played for Watford from 2019 to 2023, scoring 34 goals and providing 22 assists in 131 appearances. He joined Marseille last summer, where he scored five times in 35 matches.

This signing is seen as a replacement for Michael Olise, who recently left Palace for Bayern Munich in a £50 million deal.

Palace has been interested in Sarr for years, having missed out on signing him in 2019 when he moved from Rennes to Watford.

Sarr’s acquisition is part of an aggressive recruitment drive by Palace this summer.

He will be the club’s third signing, following Moroccan defender Chadi Riad from Barcelona and midfielder Daichi Kamada, who previously played under Palace manager Oliver Glasner at Eintracht Frankfurt.

The transfer activity at Palace has been strong, aided by sporting director Dougie Freedman’s decision to remain with the club despite interest from Newcastle.
